  1. Introduction

The University of Bahri Journal veterinary sciences (UBJVS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and scientific rigor. Peer review is the cornerstone of this process. This handbook outlines the expectations, ethical requirements, and technical guidelines for our reviewers.

  1. Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to (UBJVS) are subject to double-blind peer review.

  • We believe that using peer reviewers is the best way to obtain honest, objective, and unbiased opinions on scientific papers.
  • (UBJVS) requires that peer reviewers do not contact authors directly at any point during or after the review process.
  1. Ethical Guidelines

       Reviewers are expected to uphold the following ethical standards:

  • COPE Compliance: You should consider the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers before accepting to review a manuscript and throughout the entire process.
  • Conflict of Interest: If you have a potential conflict of interest (financial, professional, or personal) with the authors or the research, please notify the Editor-in-Chief immediately.
  • Citation Integrity: Reviewers should not suggest citations to their own work unless there is a valid scientific reason and the citation is required to fill gaps or enhance the quality of the manuscript.
  1. Confidentiality and Data Security

        Peer review is a strictly confidential process.

  • Personal Invitation: This is a personal, individual invitation. If you wish to involve a colleague in the review, you must contact (UBJVS) for approval first.
  • Privacy of Data: Peer reviewers must not enter unpublished manuscript files, images, or information into public databases or tools that do not guarantee confidentiality.
  • AI Restrictions: * Do not upload manuscript content into generative AI tools.
    • Peer reviewers must not use artificial intelligence tools to generate manuscript review reports.
  1. The Review Process

Upon completion of the review form, peer reviewers must provide the Editor-in-Chief with a formal recommendation regarding the quality and suitability of the manuscript for publication.

  • Tone: Comments should be objective and constructive. Hostile, derogatory, or personal remarks will not be tolerated.
  • Submission: Peer-review comments can only be accepted through a filled review form. We cannot accept downloaded manuscript files that you have annotated or modified.
  • Accuracy: Reviewers are responsible for ensuring any references included within their report are accurate and verifiable.
